đĄïžÂ Be Alert: Wolves in Sheepâs Clothing đđș
Not everyone who claims to walk with Christ has pure intentions. Jesus Himself warned us in Matthew 7:15:
âBeware of false prophets, who come to you in sheepâs clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.â
These individuals may speak Christian words, attend church, and even appear kindâbut their fruit reveals their true nature. As believers, we must stay discerning and rooted in Godâs Word.
1 John 4:1Â reminds us:
âDear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.â
False teachers, manipulative leaders, and deceptive influences can creep into our lives, relationships, and even the church. Thatâs why discernment is a spiritual necessityânot a luxury.
Jesus tells us how to recognize them:
âYou will know them by their fruits.â â Matthew 7:16
Their actions, motivations, and results of their influence will eventually reveal their heart.
So what do we do?
đč Stay in the Word â Psalm 119:105: âYour word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.âđč Pray for Discernment â James 1:5: âIf any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God.âđč Stay in Community â Godly counsel protects us from deception. Proverbs 11:14 says, âIn the multitude of counselors there is safety.âđč Examine the Fruit â Not by appearance or charm, but by the outcomes of their life and leadership. Galatians 5:22â23 shows what godly fruit looks like.
Letâs be loving, but not naive. Letâs walk in grace, but also in truth and vigilance. Wolves may wear wool, but they canât mimic godly fruit.
đïžÂ Stay rooted, stay watchful, and let the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth. â John 16:13
